The boxes are the same boxes, built and squared in the shop rather than assembled on your floor, so a closet carcass arrives ready to install and stays true over time. The fronts are the same fronts, a flat slab or a framed profile in the finishes we offer on cabinetry, so a built-in can match the kitchen in the next room or stand on its own. The drawers run on the same full-extension, soft-close runners, which is what lets a deep drawer of folded sweaters come all the way out to you instead of stopping halfway. Hanging rails, valet rods, tie and belt racks, and pull-out hampers are fitted the same careful way the interior systems go into a kitchen.
This is also why a built-in reads as part of the house rather than furniture set against a wall. It is scribed to the walls and floor, fitted to the ceiling line, and finished to match, the same join-it-to-the-architecture work that makes a run of tall kitchen cabinets look like it grew there.

So we start with the contents, not the cabinet catalogue. How much of your wardrobe hangs versus folds. How many long pieces, coats and dresses, need full-height hanging rather than double-hung. Whether shoes want angled shelves, cubbies, or drawers. Whether you want the everyday things at eye level and the seasonal things up high. The answers set the ratio of hanging to drawers to shelving, and that ratio is the whole design. A closet built around your wardrobe feels far larger than one built to a standard elevation, even at the same width, because nothing is wasted and nothing is doubled-up out of reach.
The same thinking runs through the built-ins. A mudroom is designed around boots, bags, and the door everyone actually uses. An office wall is designed around the files, the printer, and the cable run you would rather not see. Function leads here, and the look follows.
